Cape Courtesy was established in 1989 with the express purpose of serving the business visitors to South Africa. Over the years, Business Travel & Tourism has evolved and today it is recognised as a niche tourism sector. The definition we like best is the following:
"Domestic and foreign tourism for the purpose of business, comprising the two main categories of Business Travel (business tourists with a specific commercial/transaction purpose) and Business Tourism (business tourists with a specific purpose of attending a conference, meeting, exhibition, event or incentive)."
Today Cape Courtesy is still owned and operated by Robert Verbruggen and Cheryl Mulder-Verbruggen and, together with a small, dedicated freelance team, we service mainly repeat business. Our attention to detail and determination to offer the highest possible levels of service have ensured that our clients simply keep coming back, and recommending us to their business associates.
It has also resulted in us being requested to be of service in other parts of the world. This is something we do with ease and pleasure, using our extensive international network of travel associates to support our offering,
Robert is qualified as a National Tourist Guide in South Africa and is fluent in English, Dutch, German and Afrikaans. His extensive experience allows us to present sightseeing programmes that range from basic and popular to as creative as time and interest permit.
Cheryl has excellent experience at running fully-fledged hospitality offices supporting small board meetings right through to major international events. We have agreements with various quality hotels and are able to offer attractive rates for both accommodation and meeting facilities.
Cape Courtesy is a proud member of the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA). One of the many benefits of membership is that we are financially bonded. Surprisingly, not all companies offering a service similar to ours can claim the same. Passenger and public liability insurances are not negotiable and we hold cover through one of the most respected specialist brokers. Another added benefit of dealing with us is that we automatically include access to a 24/7 “hotline” for HIV/AIDS information, advice and counselling, HIV blood tests and where necessary, provision and administration of the necessary medication where a traveller is concerned that he or she may have been exposed to HIV.
Our visitor’s books are filled with entries from all over the world. China, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, Lithuania, Iceland, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, France, United States, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Tanzania, Uganda, Angola, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia... the list is endless.
The entry that probably describes our service most accurately is " Professional service at its very best. Great people. New friends."
And the August 1998 entry "Service that can't be beaten. Fantastic. A real professional first class service. We'll recommend this to everyone." by somebody who is still a regular client today. It echoes not only throughout the visitors books, but in the emails and telephone calls we regularly receive from friends of those to whom we have been of service.
